We don't sell generic bike tours. We build each escape around a signature epic — the thing you'll still be talking about years from now. Sometimes that's a legendary climb. Sometimes it's being fully immersed in a place and the people in it. And on select routes where the geography cooperates, it's a point-to-point day with the wind at your back from start to finish — one of the rarest, most joyful things in cycling. The epic is different on every trip. Delivering it is the whole job.

Our Story.
"We didn't start Velo Escapes in a boardroom. We started it on a descent through the Texas Hill Country near Austin, where the winding roads gave way to a vision that was crystal clear."
We realized that 'epic' in cycling travel had become a marketing buzzword rather than a reality. We saw escapes where guests rode expensive bikes but stayed in mediocre hotels, or stayed in amazing places but rode heavy, poorly maintained hybrids.
Velo Escapes was born to fix that imbalance. We brought the 'white-glove' standard of high-end hospitality to the grit and glory of the road. Today, we are proud to be headquartered in the heart of Austin, Texas, but our soul is scattered across the winding backroads of the world.
Here's what we actually believe: if you want an epic life, you have to go do epic things. Epic is different for everybody — a desert summit, a wine-country immersion, a week of riding you weren't sure you had in you — and every escape we build exists to hand you one. That's why the founder rides every escape: not hosting from a van, riding. The story you go home with is the product. Everything else we do is in service of it.

Based in Austin, Texas, Carey is an author, endurance athlete, life coach, and fitness coach. But above all those titles, Carey is a lifelong cycling enthusiast and lover of the open road.
Carey's vision for Velo Escapes was born out of a desire to blend the physical demands of endurance cycling with unparalleled adventure and recovery. Having experienced the transformative power of pushing physical limits, Carey knew that the perfect escape requires an equally magnificent environment to reflect and recover in.
Every itinerary, hotel partnership, and route decision passes through Carey's hands, ensuring that the brand's core ethos—that an epic life demands epic adventures—is felt in every single pedal stroke.
